Little Things, Big Problems: Invasive plants in our parks

Great video on #Invasive #Species in the #Great #Lakes and how important it is to manage these species.
Enjoy and hope this inspires you to join an outing this summer with your local Parks District to help manage invasive species.

This is a re-posting for the Hudson High School Biology Class.
We are working with them and many other stake holders on a 2,000 linear feet and 6 acres of stream restoration project that will double as a LandLab  for the students.  The funding for the project was generously made possible by Ohio EPA through there 319 grant and the City of Hudson through there Stormwater Program.

Holly Puglis Bridal Shower

Holly Puglis Bridal Shower

I had the opportunity to photograph my sister in-laws Bridal Shower on March 11th 2012.  The shower was held at North Chagrin Reservation in Mayfield Ohio.

It was a lovely spring day in Ohio, with temperatures in the high 60's and sunny.  The ladies all enjoyed the event with food and arrangements prepped by Sarah and all her sisters, making photographing the event even more enjoyable. Below is a few image of the day...

Summer mornings 2010

Just got a round to looking at some of my images I made on Sunday morning. Sarah had to open so I got up too and headed out at 5:30am in search of some Dragonflies and Butterfly images... And this is what I got (also see picasa/flickr albums below)...

The light was perfect soft from my back on the subjects... The morning was cool with dew drops on the grass and the air smelling and tasting like fresh summer fruit ;-)

Remember soft natural light and spending hours with your subject is what makes good images, so get out there and enjoy life...

Cheers

Fireworks & Independence Day

Fireworks & Independence Day
Well another year has come and gone. This year we decided to go and see the fireworks at the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. At the same time we would be treated to one of the best orchestras in the USA the Cleveland Orchestra at their summer home at Blossom.

But back to some images... Due to the fact that I did not want to take my tripod to this venue with me because I just hat getting to a gate and then get told that I have to walk a mile back to my car to go and put my toy's away. Not having a choice but to should hand held I knew that my images where not going to be as sharp as the year before but was going to have fun with it anyway...
Fun we sure had after a great consent and a lovely bottle of sparkling wine the light show exploded right above our heads. It was amazing and funny enough I did not loose to much sharpness like I thought. I think it was due to us sitting right under fireworks display and the light was just right for me to keep shooting at around a f7.1 with a - 1/3 and a + 4...

Enjoy these few images and for more please see the album in Picasa at the bottom of this page...

Be safe till next time...
